Nov 10 Unit Balance Changes
11/09/2022

Great variety on the battlefield is an integral part of the Conqueror's Blade experience, and it is toward that goal that we continue to change units, heroes and maps. Following our latest changes to polearm and calvary units, we've noticed that the Iron Reapers and Modao Battalion have grown weaker as a result. Community feedback has also made us aware that you're unsatisfied with their current state. But without further ado, let's take a deep dive into the changes.

Iron Reapers

As a classic damage soaker, the Iron Reapers are often tasked with making up the front lines or breaking through the enemy's defenses. Yet, in their current state they pose too little of a threat and have too low survivability if sent into the enemy's ranks. So, we've decided to focus on this aspect, and by dealing higher armor penetration and defenses damages, they'll gain both increased tankiness and better roles in the team.

1. New Effect added to [Shock] : Their flail charge will inflict [Sunder] to enemy shield infantry. Sunder greatly reduces the armor penetration and defenses of that unit for a short time, thereby bolstering the Iron Reapers' survivability when in the heat of battle.

2. Flair [Shock] always break the enemy's block and knock enemies down (previously sent them flying). Also dazes enemy heroes, making it easier to land more [Shock] attacks.

3. Flair [Shock] now hits twice, with the first being the collision for blunt damage and then they strike for extra blunt damage.

4. They now form into a tighter [Column] formation to easier to use [Shock].

Modao Battalion

As it stands, the Modao Battalion are fairly squishy when up against enemy cavalry, meaning that they in turn have a hard time thinning their ranks. This time around, we're upping their defenses so that they take reduced damage from cavalry and can more easily mount successful counterattacks.

1. [Imperative Orders] Changed To:

Takes 60% less melee damage from calvary while in [Modao Defense] (this includes calvary charges).

2. [Modao Defense] and [Modao March] both increase piercing defense and slashing defense by 100 for 3 seconds with each hit, stacking up to 15 times.

The above changes will take effect with the update on Nov 10. Oh, and keep that feedback coming!
